The City

So, we're not right in San Francisco. We're in Dublin. Which is like... a forty minute train ride or so outside of San Francisco. We're that far on purpose because of me, not because of Mitch. Despite his always wanting to live downtown in a big city, I'm more of a suburban girl. Nevertheless, we've had all kinds of fun with the city.

Mitch had been to San Francisco before so, a few weeks after we moved here he took me to San Francisco to show me around. When we went, we rode BART to the Embarcadero exit, got off, and took a trolley to Pier 39. We checked out Fisherman's Wharf, ate clam chowder is sourdough bread bowls, bought candy from a candy store, and checked out the sea lions (which basically look like giant slugs). Then we went to the purse store that my sister's BFF told me about. It's this little, hole in the wall store. And the front of it is sunglasses and perfumes. But if you go to the middle/back of the store, there are tons of pretty good knock off purses. But if you wait until the store is empty and you go to the
back of the back of the store, the lady pulls out a giant, black garbage bag full of genuine purses. So now I have a Coach purse. I've always wanted one. And this one is real. Not like, "real." This one really is real. I'm the luckiest girl ever.

Anyway, then we walked to Ghirardelli Square. That place is amazing, obviously. We went and had a chocolate chip cookie sundae thing. It was gianormous. But sooo good.

And THEN. There are these places in San Francisco that rent bikes for you to ride. And we'd seen them earlier in the day but we figured we'd wait until we were done with other things. So after we ate ice cream, we decided we were done with other things and we wanted to ride the bikes. So we rented a tandem bike. We rode it far. Like, 10 miles worth of far. We rode it along the beach and across the bridge and into Sausalito. Then we took the ferry back to Pier... 1, I think? 4 maybe? Anyway, back there and then we had to ride the bike back to where we rented it. We were so tired. Tandem bikes are hard because of the balancing involved. But it was fun to do anyway.

A
fter we returned the bike we were exhausted and done for the day so we went home. (Actually we went and tried this nice Mexican restaurant and then went home.)
