The Food
Early on in the planning, we had several relatives express how much they wanted to help with wedding details—hopefully they didn’t end up regretting their offers. Probably the most helpful of all was Mitch’s aunt, Lisa. She doesn’t have any daughters either (just three adorable sons!), so she was excited to shop for dresses and meet the decorator with us.
Sometime in November or so, Lisa came to us with an idea that she had seen at a friend’s reception. The friend had had mostly cheeses and breads on slabs of granite with various fruits spilling all around them. She showed us a picture and without much more instruction from us, she agreed to take the reins with all of the food planning.
It turned out great!!!
